Specification Guide

This guide explains the specification details commonly used to describe industrial wire mesh. It does not accept orders or quotation requests.

Core Specification Fields

A complete wire mesh specification answers six questions. If an item is unknown, the application can help identify which standard or property needs further research.

• Product — e.g. plain weave stainless cloth, welded galvanized mesh, chain link fence, hexagonal netting (see the Products Catalog)
• Material — AISI 304/304L/316/316L stainless, low-carbon steel, brass or phosphor bronze, galvanized or PVC coated
• Mesh count and wire diameter — or the opening size / micron rating you need to achieve
• Dimensions — roll width and length, or piece sizes for cut-to-size orders
• Quantity — rolls, square meters or container volume; we quote more sharply on full-container loads
• Packing and delivery — destination port and preferred terms (FOB or CIF)

Name the standard as well as the dimensions. ASTM E2016-22 covers industrial woven wire cloth specified by mesh count; ASTM E11-24 addresses test sieve cloth and test sieves for particle-size classification. Match the document to the product and intended duty before setting inspection requirements. The wire cloth standards reference explains their scopes and the products E2016 excludes.
