We produce and offer metal wire — mainly barbed wire, galvanized iron wire and black iron wire. Barbed wire is twisted from two strands of galvanized iron wire with sharp barbs wrapped at regular spacing, the simplest and most economical perimeter deterrent ever put on a fence line.
Material and Uses
Material: galvanized iron wire, twisted in conventional or reverse twist. Uses: mainly as fencing for borders and express highways and railways, as isolation screens, and as protective fencing for various constructions and sites. On security fences it runs along extension arms above chain link fabric; on grazing land it remains the standard livestock boundary in much of the world, and agricultural fencing practice guidance is published by bodies such as the USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service.
Specifications
Common specifications are 10# x 12# and 12# x 14# (main wire x barb wire, BWG), with 3" or 4" barb spacing, supplied in any length. Details are in the table below. Packing: in coils, typically 25 kg per coil on wooden or steel carriers.
| Main Wire (BWG) | Barb Wire (BWG) | Barb Spacing | Approx. Length per Kilo (m) | Coil Weight (kg) |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 12 | 14 | 3" | 6 | 25 |
| 12 | 14 | 4" | 6.5 | 25 |
| 14 | 14 | 3" | 8 | 25 |
| 14 | 14 | 4" | 9 | 25 |
| 16 | 16 | 3" | 9 | 25 |
| 16 | 16 | 4" | 10 | 25 |
Choosing a Specification
Heavier main wire (12 BWG) suits high-tension runs and harsh climates; lighter 16 BWG wire stretches further per kilo for temporary or budget fencing — the length-per-kilo column above is the quickest way to compare coverage cost. Closer 3" barb spacing increases deterrence at slightly higher weight per meter. Electro-galvanized wire is the economy option; hot-dipped galvanized wire carries several times the zinc and is the right choice for coastal or multi-decade installations.
